De Atramentis inks are handmade by Dr. Franz-Josef Janssen in Germany. He started making inks in 1991 and has since created over 200 different inks. We carry several types of the De Atramentis inks.
Pearlescent Inks - These inks are very similar to a lot of the shimmer inks on the market in regard to the shiny glitter look. Dr. Franz-Josef has perfected the metallic look to the ink when compared to other shimmer ink brands. These bottles of ink must be shaken well prior to drawing ink out of them. When the ink is in the pen, it helps to invert the pen several times prior to writing so the ink mixes prior to writing. The wider the nib and better quality of paper you use will make the pearlescent look come out more. As with all shimmer type inks, these inks require the fountain pen to be cleaned more often to ensure good ink flow.
De Atramentis Inks will be shipped via the USPS First Class or you can upgrade shipping to priority mail for an additional charge. If the weight of the package exceeds first class limits, the inks will be shipped priority.

Inks are eligible for return if they have not been opened. If an ink has been opened / used, we will not be able to refund your purchase price. If the ink has not been opened / used, and you would like to return it, please notify us within 21 days of the delivery date and ship the package back to us within 30 days of the delivery date.
